This role would suit an experienced Data Scientist or possibly a transitional/former DBA who is looking to leverage their skills and experience with SQL to move into Big Data .

Desired Skills & Experience

What You’ll Do:

Write and run SQL (HiveQL) queries against Hadoop implementation to mine dataset for different applications
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify reports that need to be developed in response to queries relating to corporate KPIs, monetization, user progression, balancing and other measures of activity
Make extensive use of Excel and Google Spreadsheets to process datasets into a format consumable by stakeholders
Develop and maintain BI reports populated by query results or other derivative datasets
Recommend data-points that should be tracked where reporting deficiencies are identified

Required experience and skills:

BS/MS in Computer Science or comparable experience
3yrs+ professional use of SQL92
5yrs+ professional of Microsoft Excel for reports, charts, formulas etc.
